This research was aimed to identify the effect of employee development towards the work performance of the employees of PT. Antam Tbk of Southeast Sulawesi (a case study towards PT. Antam Tbk. SSNBU). This is a descriptive quantitative research. The data were collected through observations and distributing questionnaires to 86 respondents. The data analysis technique used is Likert Scale; statistical test is used to examine the postulated hypotheses. The statistical test used is linear regression operated by using SPSS Program.
The results show that the relationship of the independent variable (employee development towards the performance of the employees) is significant and positive; the extent to which the independent variable affects the dependent variable is .53%. Based on t-test analysis, the calculation of Hi dan Ho establishes a curve of Hi affirmation and Ho rejection; tcalculation is 4.375 higher than ttable of 2.07. Thus, Ho is rejected and Hi is affirmed. It means that the variable of employee development (X) provides significant effect towards the performance of the employees (Y). The hypothesis of this research is proven right.
Key words: employee development; performance of employees; and working performance.
