The Effect of Reading Speed Technique towards students’ reading comprehension at the second Grade of MAN 1 Kolaka

              The objective of the research was found out the effect of using  Reading Speed technique towards students’ reading comprehension at the second grade of MAN 1 Kolaka. In the academic year of 2016/2017.

The design of the research was quasi experimental. The sample in this research  was 46 students of second grade of MAN 1 Kolaka who were divided into two groups XI IPA2 as  the control group and XI IPA3 as the experimental group.

Based on the finding of the research it was found that the mean score of the pre-test and the post-test of experimental group increased from 46.67 to 79,58  or increased 32.91 points, the mean score of the pre-test and the post-test of control group increased from 48,18 to 74,77  or increased 26,59 points. The hypothesis testing shows that level of significance was lower than 0,05 or 5%. It means that there was an effect of using Reading Speed technique towards students Reading comprehension at the second  grade of Man 1 Kolaka.
