Improving Students’ Reading Comprehension Through SQ3R technique at SMA 06 Bombana

This research was designed to improve Students’ Reading comprehension through SQ3R technique at SMA 06 Bombana. The research questions of this study was ‘’ how can SQ3r technique improve students’ reading comprehension at SMA 06 Bombana?
The design of this research was collaborative classroom action research which was proceded by setting up planning, implementation, observing, analyzing and reflecting. This study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle four meeting.
The data of this research was obtained from the result of reading test and observation sheet. They were taken during implementation of the action. The finding of this research show SQ3R technique could improve the students reading comprehension. The improve could be describe as follow : (1) the average score in the first cycle were 64 (46,6%)improve 82(93,3%) in the second cycle ( 2) the result of the result of observation sheets for students in the first cycle were in meeting one 3,60(low), two meeting 5,43(good) and meeting three 6,40 and cycle two improve 6,40 meeting one, 6,83 meeting two, 7,40 meeting three.
Finally, it is recommended for the English teachers apply SQ3R technique as on of the alternatives that could be used reading comprehension.
