The Students Ability of VIII Grade in Writing News Text at SMP Negeri 2 Ranteangin, North Kolaka
This research is based on the need for identification and information about students’ writing text capability. The problem in this research is how the ability to write news text for students of VIII Grade SMP Negeri 2 Ranteangin Kolaka Utara. The goal targeted in this study is to describe the ability to write news text for students of VIII Grade SMP Negeri 2 Ranteangin Kolaka Utara. This research belongs to field research type with the quantitative descriptive method. Sources of research data, namely students of VIII Grade SMP Negeri 2 Ranteangin North Kolaka numbering 92 people. Individually from 92 respondents, there are 74 respondents who categorized able with the percentage of achievement that is 80% whereas there are 18 respondents who are gradeified as not able with the percentage of achievement of 20%.
Based on these results, the ability to write news text for students of VIII Grade SMP Negeri 2 Ranteangin North Kolaka is not able to gradeically. It is said that because the gradeical ability of the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Ranteangin Kolaka Utara only reaches 80% below the established standard of 85%. In the aspects studied it was found that in the aspect of the compilation of headline data there are 80 respondents or equal to 86.96% with the category of capable, the aspect of the effectiveness of the sentence there are 53 respondents or 57.61% with the category of not able, on the aspect of accuracy of spelling use there are 41 respondents or 44.57% with the category is not able, and the last aspect completeness of news content (5W + 1 H) there are 83 respondents or 90.22% are in the category capable.pable.
